Feeding is Illegal (RPVMC 10.84.010)

Feeding peafowl is a violation of city code. Under LA County enforcement, this can be prosecuted as a misdemeanor, punishable by up to $1,000 in fines and/or six months in jail.

Illegal Housing (RPVMC 17.76.110)

Keeping peafowl in cages or on private property without a city-approved Exotic Animal Permit (which costs over $2,000 to file) is a violation of the Municipal Code.
